MEETING OF THE TR-STATE WOODCARVERS’ CLUB

DECEMBER 11, 2007 AT SETON RESIDENCE

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

Call to order: After a buffet supper and entertainments by Chris Lafferty, Marvin

Daniels, and Maurice Clayton, Chris called the meeting to order:

Secretary’s Report: Omitted

Treasurer’s Report: Don Deutsch gave a preliminary report of the Show and

it was evident that the club did make money . A more formal

report will be given at a future meeting.

Show Committee: Linda Allen, the 2008 Show Committee Chair, asked the members

if they wanted to continue to have the Show on the weekend after Thanks-

giving. There was a possibility that we could have the Amory on the

weekend before Thanksgiving. The reason for this was that members as

well as exhibitors and vendors find it difficult to be away from family

celebrations at this time. Another consideration was that the Hadi Circus

is in the adjacent Roberts Stadium the same weekend. Does this contribute

to our success or do people who might come to the Show go to the circus

instead? Chris felt that this question would have to be brought up

at our next meeting. In the meanwhile Linda is going to check with the

Amory as to whether the weekend before Thanksgiving would be available

to us.

Dues: Chris then asked the membership present if we should raise our annual dues

to $25 from $20 per years. Bob Koerssel said that as long as the club is

not in financial straits and we are a "not for profit" organization it would

not seem prudent for us to do this now. A vote was taken and it was

unanimous that we not change dues at this time. However, if the

membership drops and we do see financial problems we may have visit

this question again.

Next Meeting: The next meeting is January 8 but will not begin until 7:30 p.m. as the

place where we meet will not be available until that time.
