TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS’ CLUB
New members, Sherry Eagen and Les Lantaff
It was good to see Bob Kleiman and Cleo Ulm at the meeting.
Just to make one last attempt at getting dues collected, please remember to get your dues to Don Deutsch or Chris Lafferty as soon as possible. If you know of anyone who might be interested in joining the club please invite them to attend a meeting to check out what we have to offer. If they join we could work out a pro-rated membership.
Bob Kleiman donated three hand carved canes which he asked to go to a Nursing Home. They were given to Sister Anthony to take to Seton Residence. He also donated to the library a study stick of the ear.
There will be a Show Committee meeting which will be held at Seton Residence on Monday, April 30, 2007 at 6:30 p.m.. Steve Oliver asked for volunteers from the club to join the group. Three members besides the officers Doug Lafferty, Bob Koressell and Kerry Austin volunteered. Anyone that was unable to attend the monthly meeting or who will not be able to make the April 30th meeting and is interested in helping please let Steve Oliver know.
Seminars: We had a turnout of 8 for the seminar this past Saturday at Seton Hall hosting carver Phil Kruzich. Each participant made at least 2 ornaments ready to paint and hang.
Future seminars will require a down payment at the time a member signs up to attend.
Meeting Seminars: Marvin Daniels will give the May 8th club meeting seminar. Volunteers are
needed for the June, July and August meetings. Please see Chris if interested.
New business: Chris told the group that we are using a new website server.
Steve Brown said that he is offering Thursday evenings from 5 to 10 p.m. for carving at 219 East Broadway in Madisonville.
Four of our members attended the Wood Carvers Annual Class in Lebanon, Tennessee. They were Steve Brown, Marvin Daniels, Elvin Reed and Tom Brink. Next years’ dates for this event are March 16-21, 2008. The same teachers as were there this year will again be there.
The next meeting will be held at the 4 H Center on Tuesday, May 8, 2007.
