After the seminar Tom Jake of the Audubon Society gave a presentation on John James Audubon, the man and his works. The membership was invited to the Museum in Henderson to view some of Audubon's works. All felt that the talk was interesting and very timely.
Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Neil Ward, President. He also introduced a visitor, Terry Ernest.
Minutes of previous meeting:
The secretary's report was accepted as given.
Treasurer's Report:
Helen Alvey gave the Treasurer's report which was accepted as given.
Library Committee:
Kerry Austin told the membership that we have acquired a book by Carol Jean Boyd on Carving Cypress Knees. Carol Jean is the one who will judge our next Show and follow with evening seminars.
Bob Kleiman donated some magazines to the club with the idea that members could take these to keep if they wanted.
Kerry also reported that the Library has wood for sale,Show Committee:
The show committee will have its next meeting on Saturday, August 21 at 9:30 a.m. at Seton Residence. The committee hopes to have ticket books available for the September meeting. The cost for entrance to the Show is $3 and children under 12 are free. The book will be made up of 7 tickets and the cost per book will be $21. Members will be able to enter a raffle for each book sold.
Old Business:
Ken Alvey brought the newly printed brochure. They need to be folded. Mary Purtzer and Marilyn Brothers will do this.
At the September meeting we will have a seminar on Pumpkin Carving by Larry Green To date we have 11 members signed up. Neil needs to know how many rough out Larry needs to bring so please contact him by September 1st.
We have nothing planned for a seminar in October. A seminar will be held at Seton Residence on August 14 and 15 which will be given by Steve Oliver. It is on Relief Carving.
New Business:

Seminars:
Steve Brown, Marvin Daniels and Larry Green will do a seminar in October at Burdett Park. Date for this seminar can be found on Steve Brown's Web Site.
On December 11 and 12 we will have seminar presented by Steve Brown. Cost for the seminar is $60 plus the cost of the rough out.
Half Pot:
The Half Pot was won by Brett Abell
