Call to Order:
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 p.m. by Neil Ward, President.
Minutes of previous meeting:
There were no minutes because the February 2010 meeting was cancelled due to bad weather conditions. Neil did write a President's letter which will be filed with the minutes of this meeting.
Treasurer's Report:
Helen Alvey gave the treasurer's report which was accepted by the membership. Dues for 2010 can be paid now. The dues are now $25 a year.
Library Committee:
There was no library report except to let members know that the Library will remain in the meeting room so that members have better access to it.
Show Committee:
We now have a judge for our show. He is Robert Biermann from St. Louis. We also have a chain saw carver who is James Taylor. Members are urged to find sponsors to help with the expenses of the show. Members who still have yard signs from last year are asked to bring them to the next meeting so that Kerry will know how many we still need. Our next meeting will be March 20 at 9:30 a.m. at Seton Residence
Old Business:
Steve Oliver wanted to be certain that the membership knew that we now have a Family type membership. This means the spouse of the member and/or children and grandchildren will be included in the member's dues but only the member has voting rights.
New Business:
We are in need of a Christmas tree (4 to 5 feet) to be donated for the show. We are also in need of ornaments for the tree and carvings for "Carvings for Charity".
A motion was made by Neil Ward that we consider having an Emeritus membership for some of our members who have been with us for a long time. This status will entitle them to a membership card and the activities of the Club. They will not have voting privileges. The motion carried . Bob Koressel suggested that we have a committee to set up the norms for this Honorary membership
During the Show and Tell part of our meeting, Dan Aldridge said that he and Julia had some of their art on display in the Lobby of the Fifth Third Bank located at 20 NW Third Street from March 8 through March 26, 2010.
Seminars:
Steve Brown is willing to give a seminar in December. Date will be given at the next meeting.Half Pot:
The half pot was won by Bob Koressel.

Before the March 9 Woodcarver's meeting started, Neil Ward introduced our speaker. He was Jim Daniels of the Izaak Walton League of America. This group is dedicated to the preservation of wildlife, natural resources, and the future of outdoor recreation in America. There are about 25 divisions and chapters in the United States. Evansville has a chapter. The headquarters are near Boonville and the Spencer County line. Their goal is to help keep nature in balance.
