MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS CLUB

January 12, 2016 4 H Center

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:00 p.m. by Jeff Hancock, President.

Approval of minutes:

Motion: To approve the minutes for November 10, 2015, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion carried

Treasurer's Report:

Don Deutsch gave the treasurer's report: Motion: To accept as presented. Motion carried.

Library Report:

Kathy Vonderahe explained the use of the Library and displayed the study casts from Debbe Edwards.

Show Committee:

Richard Hitch showed the basics of carving to new members of the club.

Old Business:

Bob Koressel: 2nd reading of the Bylaws amendment, the President brought the motion to a vote: bylaws were approved.

Club Historian: the President appointed Bob Koressel: keeper of bylaws.

The President announced that John Blanford, a former member of our club passed away.

New Business:

The President asked for volunteers for Mini-Seminars for this year. He has a sign-up sheet for those that are interested in leading a mini-seminar. The Club pays $25.00 per mini-seminar for the instructor at each meeting. He also asked the Club what ideas they had for learning opportunities.

The President asked the Club what their desires were for professional seminars, who they would want as an instructor and who is going to make arrangements. Undecided: members need to be thinking about who they want.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.

Our meeting was followed by a seminar led by Frank Wildeman: several members joined him in carving his duck hat pin.
