MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

January 9, 2018 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order by Jeff Hancock. Members and guests were made welcome.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion made by Ben Meyer and second by Joel Slaton to approve the minutes for November 14, 2017, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Alan Bailey gave the treasuer's report: Motion made to accept by Robin Meyer and second by Ben Meyer. Moton carried.

Library Committee:

Open and ready for use by members. No changes in the Library.

Show Committee:

Old Business:

1. Sister Anthony was able to join us at the Christmas party.

2.Thank you to Don Deutch and Ben Meyer for their work on the Nomination Committee.

3. In need of instructors for Monthly Mini Seminar: Pays $25.00 per seminar. Please see Jeff if you are willing to conduct a seminar.

4. Discussion on the possibility of the show this year. Ben Meyer volunteered to work on show with the help of others. Need help and idea for the show this year from the membership.

New Business:

1. Rich Wetherbee seminar Saturday and Sunday, March 24, and 25, 2018. Cost $150.00 the seminar is at Seton Hall working in clay medium. Monday March 26th will be carving wood. This added class is $75.00. Start time for the e days: 9:00 a.m. Lunch with the Sisters.

2. Gene Sutton is helping the late Tom Brink's wife with selling his tools and supplies if you are interested in anything please see Gene.

3. Mini Seminar for February will be conducted by Frank Wildeman. We will be carving his Poinsettia flower.

Show and Tell:

Members shared Wizards, Spoons and a Rocking Horse along with several other pieces.

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Bob Kleiman.

Being no further business motion made by Robin Meyer and second by Frank Wilderman. Meeting was adjourned.
