MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

July 11, 2017 4 H Center

Call to Order:

July meeting was called to order at by President Jeff Hancock. Members were made welcome.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion made and seconded to approve the minutes for June 13, 2017, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion by Ben Meyer to accept and second by Robin Meyer, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Alan Bailey gave to treasurer's report: Motion made to accept by Steve Eli and second by Ben Meyer as presented. Motion carried.

Library Committee:

No report this month

Show Committee:

No show this year

Old Business:

Reminder next month: August is Name Tag competition month. $25.00 winner takes all. Must be new carve. Last year winner was Joel.

Sign up for Rich Wetherbee seminar October 23 and 24 Cost $150.00

New Business:

Don made a motion to put the half pot into the general fund to help built up our account. Steve Eli second and motion carried.

Richard Hitch opened a discussion to the possibility of having small carving groups meet weekly and have the Club meeting changed to Quarterly meetings. Also we are still talking about new location to meet at in the future. After much discussion we decided to table for later.

Club fund raising options mentioned to build the Clubs funds were as follows:
1. Sell items on Esty,
2. Use the Club Facebook page for listing sell items
3. Have an Auction
All the options are being considered and more dicussion will be in the future.

Mini-Seminars: Club pays $25.00 per mini seminar for the instructor at each meeting

August: OPEN CARVING Richard will be doing the November meeting

September: Frank, carving angels

October: Auction. Bring 1-5 piece to be auctions off. Club fund raiser

November: Richard Hitch

December: Christmas Party

Show and Tell: Many fanastic pieces shared with the club tonight.

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Bob Johnson

Being no further business meeting was adjourned. Next meeting August 8, 2017, 6:00 p.m. in the Conference Room p.m.
