Alan gave the club an update on the condition of his son who had been injured at work the end of April and is still in the hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Library Committee:

Elvin Reed donated some resin castings for the club library.

Show Committee:

The show committee will meet at 5:00 P.M. before the next Carving Club meeting on July 9th.

Old Business:

Sherry gave detailed information on our upcoming seminar with Wayne Laramore. One additional person signed up for the seminar. We currently need leaders for our monthly club seminars. Frank Wildeman and Jeff Hancock volunteered to do future seminars and will set up a month with Sherry.

The Master's Gardener's show is Saturday, July 20th. They do not have any applications available yet. Several club members thought they could help including Bill Kelly, Frank Wildeman and Sherry Schaefer.

New Business:

Richard Hitch gave a lengthy report on grant money. The information he gave was from the Indiana Arts Foundation. Applications are made in January. After much discussion the idea was shelved for now as we are not sure that is the course the club wants to take.

There are many conditions attached to grants and since manpower is lacking for many things we do now, we may want to make another commitment. Richard did say that the purchase of a building by the club that he had previously mentioned was not feasible and should not be pursued any further.

Bob Koressel suggested we use our existing money to promote our club with advertising and also printing tickets for our show. Richard Hitch will check on the price of printing tickets. Discussion followed regarding tickets and printing costs. Sherry said we need to have a Show Committee meeting before proceeding with printing tickets. A Show Committee meeting was scheduled before our next club meeting in July.
