MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

March 10, 2020 4 H Center

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:05 p.m. by President Jack Winkelman.

Jack mentioned old members moved to different states. Jack also mentioned that Don D. is ill. Frank Wildeman came home from Australia.

We welcomed five guests; which three became members.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion to approve the minutes of February meeting was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Jon Gunnels. Motion carried, Minutes approved.

Treasurer's Report:

Treasuere Alan Bailey gave his report. Motion was made by Jeff Hancock and seconded by Bob Koressel. Motion carried, treasure's report approved.

Library Committee:

When returning books please sign then back in and replace the card in its holder in the book, cd,or on the cabinet door for study casts.

Show Committee:

Jeff Hancock said that we will have the show on October 17,2020 9-3 at the Salem United Methodist church. All sponserships for flyers need to be in by the next meeting which is April 14, 2020.

Old Business:

Reminder AUCTION next month. The business portion of the meeting will only be to approve minutes of previous meeting and to approve treasurer's report. As stated in the newsletter, on his passing Conrad Wetzedl left his carving books, wood and tools to the club to to do with as the club saw fit. Set up time for auction is at 5'0 clock p.m.

Alan has furnished financial information for the financial audit team and budget committee to use. the team has finished the financial audit for the 2019 Club year. No issues were found . (Bob K., Kathy V., Jack W.) We plan to have a budget to present to the Club at the May meeting. Magic word showers.

New Business:

1. Master Gardner's Art in the Garden is tentatively scheduled for June 13, 2020 at 10:00a.m. to 2:00p.m. Please mark your calendar. Jack will furnish more information as he receives it. Carve and promote the club.

2. Information- Spring Renegade Roundup will be March 22 through 28th. Lebanon, TN had damage from the tornado that went through a week ago but the Roundup is still a go.

Seminars:

The questionnaire is still a work in progress. Update --Jack will will be sending out a questionnaire to get a feel for what' if any seminars the Club might be interested in this year. Please respond back to the questionnare even if it is with "I am not intereseted" or " I don't care" comment.

Show and tell:

Kathy Vonderahe showed a turtle, Robin Meyer showed santa heads that Corad Wetzel carved and she painted, Dan showed his tree plaque and cane, Marti Vanada showed her snowman and rooster, Mark Meyer showed his mermaid, and Jack Winkleman showed his penguins.

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Jon Gunnels, and was given back to the club.

February minutes magic word drawing was won by Ben Meyer.

March news letter magic word drawing was won by Jeff Hancock.

Jeff Hancock made a motion to adjourn and it was seconded by Kathy Vonderahe.

A big thank you to Steve Eli for your mini seminar on wood burning.

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:30 p.m.
