MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

November 14, 2017 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order by President Jeff Hancock. Welcome to guests and new members

Welcome to Frank and Ruth of Brownine's Woodcarving Supply.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion made by Ben Meyer and second by Steve Eli to approve the minutes for October 10, 2017, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Alan Bailey gave to treasurer's report: Motion made to accept by Gene Sutton and second by Ben Meyer. Motion carried.

Library Committee:

Ben reported the Library is open and ready for use by members.

Class tonight by Richard Hitch, on Quick Wizard/Santa

Report on last Month's Auction: We had a very successful auction bringing in $1,899.00 to the club for operating expenses.

Ken Alvey made comments on the great Clay Classes by Rich Wetherbee

Christmas Party sign-up sheet on the table for: December 12, 2017. Seton Residence 9200 New Harmony Road at 6:00 p.m. Club is buying the chicken. Please bring a covered dish and Christmas ornament for exchange if you want to participate.

New Business:

Rich Wetherbee clay class scheduled for next spring: Saturday and Sunday March 24th and 25th. Carving class scheduled for Monday March 26th. Clay classes will be $150.00 and the Carving class will be $75.00. Times and location will come later. Jeff is working on scheduling the classes at the Seton Residence. Sign up sheet on the table.

Nomination of Club Officers:

Committee reported current officers would be willing to remain in office with the exception of the President. After asking the President if he will remain Richard Hitch made motion to put officers up for election. Vote called for and carried the following officers remain through 2018. Jeff Hancock-President, Frank Wilderman-Vice President, Alan Bailey- Treasurer, Sherry Schaefer-Secretary

Seminars:

Mini-Seminars: Club pays $25.00 per mini seminar for the instructor at each meeting: January Mini: Dennis Hall , Class on twig Rooster

Show and Tell:

Several members brought great examples for tonight.

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Conrad Wetzel.

Adjournment:

Being no further business motion made by Steve Eli and second by Larry. Meeting was adjourned.

Following meeting Club members shopped and carved the Wizard/Santa.
