MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

Call to Order:

The meeting was called to order at 6:10 p.m. by Jeff Hancock, President.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion: To approve the minutes for September 13, 2016, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Don Deutsch gave the treasurer's report: Motion: To accept as presented. Motion carried.

Library Committee:

Open

Show Committee:

A representative of Easter Seals Southwestern Indiana, spoke on their work and our club's support of Easter Seals. We have supported them since the year 2000 with a total donation to date of $16, 500.00.

Sheri spoke on the need for workers at the show for the following tasks: taking and selling tickets at the door, selling tickets of "Carvings for Charity".

Richard Hitch announce that his students will have a table at the show.

Old Business:

November Round-table Agenda: Dan Alldredge, Wood Burning; Steve Eli, Painting; Bob Koressel, Caricature Carving; Jack Winkleman, Whittling; Richard Hitch, Sharpening; Jeff Hancock, Chip Carving. President asked the Club to sell the Round-table at the Show for November 8, Meeting.

Art in the wild, Wesselman Woods Nature Center. Saturday, November 12, 12:00 to 4:00 p.m. Jeff and Neil will attend.

President met with Capt. Nunn at the National Guard Armory to reserve dates for the 2017 Show. We are penciled in for October 21 and 22, setup on Friday, October 20th.

New Business:

President encouraged members to sign-up for Show Carving Competition, Tables, and the Banquet.

President asked everyone to sign up for our Christmas Party, December 13, at Seton Residence. Please bring a Covered dish, Club will provide the main dish. There will be a Christmas Ornament exchange. There will also be entertainment the cost is $5.00 per couple.

The Cincinnati Woodcarving Show is October 15 &16, 2016, at the Clarion Hotel, North Cincinnati 3855 Hauck Road, Sharonville, OH.

President announced that Steve Brown still had openings for the October, 2016, Renegade, in Lebanon, TN. 25 miles east of Nashville,TN.

President announced the date for Renegade Woodcarvers Roundup: March 20 to 24, 2017. The cost is $225.00 plus the cost of roughouts. Renegade is held in Lebanon, TN. 25 miles east of Nashville,TN.

President appointed a Nominating Committee to nominate Club Officers for 2017. The following were appointed: Bob Koressel, Ben Myers, and Alan Bailey.

Seminars:

Pat Moore's seminar on October 24, 25 and 26, 2016, is now full and has a waiting list.

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Ben Meyer.

Adjournment:

There being no further business the meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.

The next meeting is Tuesday, November 8, 2016, Election Day!

Our meeting was followed by a seminar led Gene Sutton, and Jeff Hancock on Sharpening.
