MINUTES OF TRI-STATE WOODCARVERS' CLUB

September 12, 2017 4 H Center

Call to Order:

Meeting was called to order late due to traffic on Hwy 41 by President Jeff Hancock. Members were made welcome. No new faces.

Minutes of previous meeting:

Motion made and seconded to approve the minutes for August 8, 2017, meeting as posted on the Club's web site. Motion by Robin Meyer to accept and second by Richard Hitch, motion carried.

Treasurer's Report:

Alan Bailey gave to treasurer's report: Motion made to accept by Jim Green and second by Robin Meyer as presented. One opposed, Bob Kleinman Motion carried.

Library Committee:

Open and ready for use by members. Some items will be donated for the Auction.

Show Committee:

No show this year

Old Business:

Jeff announced Bob Johnson moved to Richmond Virginia to be close to family. We all wish him the best.

Sign up for Rich Wetherbee seminar October 21 and 22 Cost $150.00 The seminar is at Seton Hall working in clay medium. Monday October 23, 2017 will be carving wood. This added class is $75.00. Start time for the 3 days: 9:00 a.m. Lunch with the Sisters.

Steve Eli passed out Auction flyer's and discussed some options on items to bring. All proceeds from the auction will go to the General Fund of the Tri-State Carvers. The success of the auction and the club depends on our members. Please bring a few items to donate and be prepared to bid. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

New Business:

November 14th meeting Frank and Ruth fo Brownine's Woodcarving will attend our meeting. They will be selling tools.

Seminars: Club pays $25.00 per mini seminar for the instructor at each meeting

October: Auction. Bring 1-2 piece to be auctioned off . Club fundraiser

November: Richard Hitch

December: Christmas Party

Half Pot:

The half pot was won by Larry Vonderahe.

Being no further business motion made by Ricard Hitch and second by Robin Meyer. Meeting was adjourned.
